FAQ

Frequently Asked.

No matter if this is your first time at camp, or your 7th, you might have questions…

Ignite is a weekend event of worship, encouragement, and fellowship for the young people in the Apostolic Christian Church of America. Our attendees are ages 18+ and active in their local AC Church.

The schedule for Ignite includes speaking sessions where keynote speakers share messages about our theme. We also have dedicated time for worship, including instruments and a cappella singing. A big part of the impact of camp comes in the form of breakout session, where speakers share on important, relevant topics to the church, especially the younger generation of the church.

Ignite is held at a campground every year. This year, Ignite will be at the Hanging Rock Christian Camp, near Covington, Indiana.

The campground we are at this year has dorm-style beds. Attendees will need to bring their own sleeping bag (or sheets) and a pillow. You’ll also need to bring a towel and any toiletries you’ll need for the weekend. If you are flying  in for the weekend and need extra consideration for bedding, please email us ASAP – tyler@igniteforhim.com

Our goal is to help encourage and unify the younger generation of the Apostolic Christian Church. Our attendees must be 18 or older, and active in a local AC church.

The Ignite team comprises of members from across the midwest, but our leadership team is Kurt Bahler, Drew Schumacher, and Tyler Knochel from West Lafayette. Our counseling elder is Nick Gutwein, and we meet annually with the other AC Camps and their counseling elders.

Take a look at the Around the Table episode where we discuss in more detail with Brother John Wiegand from Silverton, OR.

As you can imagine, hosting a weekend event for 500+ young people can be costly. Food and lodging account for most of our expenses. Our cost per camper is $150 each. We ask that each camper consider donating that amount to help us make Ignite happen.

With our limited capacity at the camp ground, we are trying to prioritize attendees who can participate for the full weekend – we need to maximize the bedspace we have!
We do have a “day pass” available if you can only attend on Saturday – make sure to select that option in the form so we can make sure we can have as many people as possible attend Ignite this year!

If you’re a married couple, you are welcome to attend Ignite! Due to our venue, we make any special accommodations for married couples.

Our camp, Hanging Rock Christian Camp, is dorm style, so it doesn’t allow us to accommodate couples on site. If you and your spouse would like to attend, please register individually, and you will stay in separate dorms with other campers.

For Cabin Leaders and Breakout Speakers, we would love for you to register for yourself and your spouse (if attending).

Please register through the same form for all campers and mark yourselves as staff in the form.

Ignite will be on September 13-15th in 2024!
