2025 breakout sessions.

Our breakout sessions are always such an important part of Ignite. This year, we have a wide variety of topics to choose from in each of our 3 timeslots. Take a look at our options below!

Walking with “a Friend” Through Deconstruction or a Crisis of Faith – Do you know someone who’s questioning their faith, wrestling with what they believe, or deconstructing their spiritual foundation? This session will explore how to walk alongside a friend in the midst of doubt or deconstruction. Whether you’re supporting someone close to you or want to be prepared for these conversations, this time together will offer spiritual encouragement for the journey. Our Lord wants to use these struggles to grow resilient, grounded, and empathetic disciples.

Expectations and Marriage – Expectations: We all have them. They have a huge impact on how we experience life. Finding the balance of having realistic and grounded expectations can be challenging. This is especially true when it comes to the topic of marriage. This session will reflect on how to make expectations work for you and not against you.

Our Roots –  This year is the 500th anniversary of the anabaptist movement. Come learn about some of our roots & how this movement has served the cause of Christ and the larger New Testament Church.

Slow down! Listen to and learn from the body God gave you – Learning to slow down and listen to your body is a vital part of stewarding your emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being. Ignoring these needs feeds anxiety and leads to disconnection. We’ll explore body image through a spiritual lens and show how slowing down helps us care for the bodies God has entrusted to us.

Reflecting God through play – The entertainment industry has hijacked works like play and fun and could make a follower of Christ question their value and worth. Did you know that concepts like “play” and “delight” can be found in God and how He expresses Himself in Scripture? Let’s explore together how we can continue to embrace play and fun in a healthy way that shapes and matures our walk with Jesus and each other.

Contrasting Perspectives how Human Diversity reflects God’s Creation – Church is a collection of individual creations of our Father. Just as His Creation perfectly revolves each day, we too can worship in harmony with those who think differently.

Finding Grace and Peace in abundance in a whole full of distractions and anxiety – The Bible promises us peace in Christ, but so often our lives are overrun by anxiety, fear, and anger. We want a deep relationship with God, but oftentimes it feels like going through the motions. We want to feel God in our lives, but a lot of times it’s static. What are we as Christians missing…what am I missing?

Enjoying God’s Presence – We have been created for God’s presence. All manner of human flourishing starts with living with God. In this breakout we will seek to take our devotions from “got to” to “get to” to “want to.” Which is the shape that spiritual growth takes.

How important is committing to a local church? – Commitment to a local church is not only Biblical, it is God’s guideline to a Biblical life. It is not only healthy, it is our prescription for health. The Church is not God’s weekend hobby for your life, it is his plan to save the world.

Demystifying God’s Will for me – A practical guide for sorting through how to discern God’s will in your life, make God-honoring decisions, and especially how to handle the decisions that seem non-obvious.

Women, Sex, and Power in the Bible: A Complicated Narrative – Sexuality is a topic that comes with a lot of emotions and questions. The Bible both praises and warns about women’s beauty and allure—it’s seen as part of God’s purpose in stories like Esther, yet also linked to temptation and seduction. That can make it feel like our natural attractiveness is something dangerous or even wrong. But the truth is any power comes with responsibility. Instead of seeing it as something to fear or suppress, we can learn how to respect and honor it with God as our guide. Let’s dive into what the Bible really says and how we can embrace this part of who we are in a way that aligns with His purpose.

When doors close – How do you face rejection, especially in marriage? It can be hard when the answer is no – this talk is meant to help encourage you during seasons where it feels like doors keep closing.

Bible 404 error: Approaching Scripture Incorrectly – How should I read the Bible? Most of us come to Scripture with our own questions, looking for answers, signs, or advice. But what if the Bible has its own questions and answers? In this session, we’ll explore how our view of the Bible shapes our reading of it, uncover some common (and dangerous) mistakes, and discover how Scripture, read rightly, isn’t just useful, but life-changing.

Caring for the Vulnerable –  Jesus showed his deep commitment to the vulnerable when he said, “Whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me.” This has been a consistent theme held in the Bible. God’s people were called to draw others to him by serving those around them. Let’s dive in and explore how we can live out this calling in a meaningful way. After all, caring for the vulnerable is not a “nice to-do” but an absolute living out of our faith.

Relationships for Life – As we navigate through a world of uncertainties, God places “ordinary” people into our lives to walk with us. If we see it and engage, we have the opportunity to build legacy relationships. These are relationships for living and for life.

Under the headship of Christ: The beauty of submission  – Authority, submission & surrender are loaded terms. If only the culture knew, if only we knew, how good they really are. Good, when ordained by God and wielded by way of his Spirit. But just because they are good doesn’t mean they are easy.

In the Potter’s Hands – get your hands dirty with the demonstration of one of the Bible’s Metaphors – we are the clay, he is the potter. Let’s explore what that means with the guidance of a passionate hobbiest.

More Than Music: The Transformative Power of Singing –
This interactive session will include discussion on the Biblical and spiritual benefits of singing together in worship, the science of singing, and how you can support our church’s tradition of singing together in harmony.

God is LIGHT – What a powerful statement – one of only a few things that the Bible explicitly says “God is_____”. So what does that mean? Let’s explore the properties of light and the spiritual metaphors found in this statement with some hands-on physics!
